As part of the renovation of a mas in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, KDM Menuiserie replaced old steel windows and doors with new custom-made aluminum windows and doors.
The objective of the project was to modernize the windows and doors while preserving the character of this Provençal building and the aesthetics of its façades.

Our teams carried out the entire project, from taking measurements on site through to the installation of the new windows and doors. In renovation projects, each opening requires precise measurements in order to adapt the new units to the dimensions and specific features of the existing building.
The old steel windows and doors were carefully removed before preparing the openings and installing the new aluminum units.

The choice of aluminum windows and doors with slim profiles makes it possible to preserve the appearance of the old metal windows and doors while providing the performance and comfort of contemporary windows and doors.
The handling and installation of the large glass panels were carried out directly by our teams, with particular care given to the positioning and integration of the new frames into the existing openings.
The new aluminum windows and doors blend naturally with the stone surrounds, traditional shutters, and architecture of the mas. The dark shade of the aluminum creates a subtle contrast with the stone and light-colored façades while preserving the Provençal identity of the house.

Particular attention was paid to shimming, adjustments, sealing, and interior and exterior finishes. These steps are essential when replacing windows and doors in an old house in order to achieve a clean finish and seamless integration with the existing building.

This project in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the Alpilles, illustrates KDM Menuiserie’s expertise in the renovation of mas and character homes in Provence, particularly in replacing old steel windows and doors with custom-made aluminum solutions.
From taking measurements to installation and finishing, our teams support each project while taking into account the existing architecture, the technical constraints of the building, and the desired aesthetic result.
